In 1974, Mike and Barbara Bernath founded Carolina Bomanite Corporation and joined the Bomanite Corporation, whose specially trained and licensed contractors now operate across the USA and in 65 countries worldwide. Their continuous ownership and operation provide a continuity and level of expertise not found in many companies.

Carolina Bomanite Corporation has been an annual award winner among the international network of Bomanite Franchise Partners. For 2006, the company received top awards in 2 categories, including the Grand Award for the Best Micro-Top Project Worldwide, for the Eastland Transit Project in Charlotte, NC.
In 2007, Carolina Bomanite was awarded the "Most Installed" for the largest volume of Lithocrete installation during the year.
